Style Guide: Groomswear Trends To Look Out For in 2018

So, you may have spotted our predicted wedding and bridal trends over on Perfect Day Bride, but don’t fret, as we haven’t forgotten about the grooms! We’ve been keeping a close eye on the anticipated groomswear trends for next year, and we can’t wait to share them with you in today’s feature. Grab your hubby-to-be, as this is one for him to read! Let’s get started and find out what you can expect next year…

Style Guide: Groomswear Trends To Look Out For in 2018

Choosing your suit can be just as exciting and overwhelming as the bride picking out her dress. You will find that you are absolutely spoilt, with an incredible range of styles, cuts and colours to choose from. But first things first, before you start the search for your suit, there a few things to think about beforehand. Take into account the season – are you tying the knot in Summer? Then you may want to wear something a little lighter than a traditional three-piece suit. If you’re having a cosy Winter affair, make sure you opt for a suit where you will stay warm all day long – even with those chilly outdoor wedding photographs! Consider your colour palette and wedding theme, you want your suit to fit in with everything perfectly.

You want to feel comfortable, confident and most importantly, like ‘you’ on your wedding day. If you often wear braces or a bow-tie, be sure to incorporate them into your aisle style. You’re going to be wearing your suit all day long and you want to be able to look back at your photographs with pride. Make sure your groomswear reflects your individual style and personality, and then you’re guaranteed to look great.

Let’s talk about trends. Add a hint of luxury to your wedding outfit with a variety of jewel tones. This trend has been a firm favourite in the world of weddings and it looks like it’s here to stay. Plush navy, dashing emerald and rich burgundy are all making appearances in groomswear trends. A modern take on a traditional look, this trend offers you the chance to wear something a little different for your celebrations.

The colour palette looks particularly handsome paired with velvet – we’re talking a smart velvet jacket, bow-tie or waistcoat. Velvet is currently huge in the fashion world and it’s a great option if you’re having an Autumn or Winter wedding in 2018.

It’s time to accessorise! Think carefully about how you are planning on accessorising your wedding day look, as this can effortlessly transform any suit. Stylish hats, leather braces and vintage-inspired pocket watches are all dapper ways to add something unique to your aisle style. Plus, they make a super gift to open on the morning of the wedding!

Whether you want a high end or high street suit, you’re guaranteed to find something to suit your style with the help of our groomswear trends and style guide.

Swoon-Worthy Autumn Wedding Inspiration and Ideas

Autumn conjures up all kinds of cosiness for us here at Flossy & Willow, from the crisp leaves to delicious mugs of hot chocolate and of course, the gorgeous colour palettes. The season offers so much gorgeous inspiration for Autumn weddings, so it’s no wonder that it is becoming one of the most popular times of the year to tie the knot. If an Autumn wedding takes your fancy, keep reading and discover some of the most swoon-worthy inspiration for your special day…

Swoon-Worthy Autumn Wedding Inspiration and Ideas rockmywedding.co.uk - rosstalling.co.uk

When it comes to choosing a colour scheme for your Autumn wedding celebration, you’ll find that the options really are endless. Whether you choose a luxurious palette bursting with jewel tones, a rustic theme with lots of forest green hues, or a traditional celebration with heaps of orange, red and brown shades, it’s going to look incredible. We’ve taken inspiration from all three colour palettes – as we simply couldn’t choose!

Swoon-Worthy Autumn Wedding Inspiration and Ideas rockmywedding.co.uk - foxandowl.uk

For your gorgeous team of ‘maids, we’ve written all about how to pull off the mix and match trend here. Bridesmaid dresses in different designs, colours and styles will look utterly divine, and they’ll still look coordinated and as part of the bridal party.

Swoon-Worthy Autumn Wedding Inspiration and Ideas bethanysmall.com

As beautiful as Autumn is, it can also be much chillier! Be sure to wrap up warm on your wedding day as there is nothing worse than being cold, especially on the most important day of your life. A vintage leather jacket will not only look stylish, it’ll keep you cosy throughout your outdoor wedding photographs. Alternatively, you could don a cosy cashmere knit on your special day – the contrast of the knitwear against your wedding dress will look incredible. However, a simple shawl will also do the trick, and you could even supply your guests with a wicker basket full of shawls, rugs and blankets.

Swoon-Worthy Autumn Wedding Inspiration and Ideas rockmywedding.co.uk - matthoranphotography.com

We suggest using lots of wooden details and decorations throughout your Autumn wedding. This will help to create a modern yet rustic vibe for your big day, as well as maintaining that cosy and ethereal atmosphere. You can use wooden signs to decorate your venue and they’re the perfect way of filling up an empty space. From your seating plan to directions, wooden signs are super useful and they just happen to look lovely. You could also serve your guests seasonal cocktails or hot cocoa on wooden trays. Little wooden name tags would make the sweetest place name cards, and they can double up as wedding favours too.

While Summer may offer plenty of beautiful blooms, don’t be fooled! Autumn is one of the most magical times of the year for wedding flowers and foliage. Blooms have such impact at your wedding venue and they can be used in lots of delightful ways throughout your big day. Use a mixture of foliage and greenery teamed with chocolate cosmos, ranunculus and roses to decorate a wooden archway, within your centrepieces or to use in your bridal bouquet.

You can work in lots of textures too for an extra seasonal touch – we adore the idea of adding Pheasant feathers or thistles to your bouquet or table centrepieces. Your florist will be able to guide you on which flowers are in season for Autumn, but don’t worry about there being a lack of gorgeous posies!

How To Pull Off The Mismatched Bridesmaids Trend

Happy Wedding Wednesday to all of our beautiful brides-to-be out there. Today we’re talking all about your best girls – that’s right, today’s feature is focusing on bridesmaid fashion. Once you’ve chosen your bridal squad, it’s time to think about their aisle style. No matter how many ‘maids you’ve got, finding a one-size-fits-all can be a seriously tricky task. Your bridesmaids are going to be a variety of sizes and shapes, not to mention their individual styles. Sounds near enough impossible, right? Don’t fret ladies, luckily for you and your ‘maids, mix and match gowns are here to stay and we couldn’t be any happier about it. Keep reading to find out how you can rock the mismatched bridesmaids trend…

How To Pull Off The Mismatched Bridesmaids Trend stylemepretty.com - laurenpeelephotography.com

How To Pull Off The Mismatched Bridesmaids Trend

Not only do mismatched bridesmaids dresses look gorgeous, they give your ‘maids a range of options to choose from so that they can find something they truly love. If you love the thought of your bridesmaids wearing matching gowns, there are lots of lovely multi-way styles to choose from. This means you can have the same length, colour and material, but the neckline will be slightly different for each bridesmaid. Some of your bridesmaids may love rocking a strapless gown while others may adore a halter-neck. Experiment with a range of multi-way gowns to find a style that suits your team of ‘maids, and we can promise you that they will all look gorgeous.

If you do want your best girls to go completely mismatched, we always suggest keeping one element the same in each gown. For example, opt for the same colour palette, material or length – whether that’s maxi or tea-length.

If you’re swooning over the thought of a pink colour palette, from the palest pink to a deep rose pink, they’ll still look coordinated if you keep the length and the material the same. If you start changing too many elements, your bridesmaids may be mistaken for wedding guests!

If you’re an ultra-laid back bride and you’re asking your girls to choose their gowns, be sure to give them a little direction so they can pick out the perfect gown. Offer a colour palette they can choose from, or delegate a colour to each girl. It’s also worth letting them know about any styles, designs or colours you’d rather they stayed away from.

We adore the thought of gifting your girls with meaningful matching jewellery – this will also help to ensure your bridal party look coordinated and it will mean they can treasure their gifts long after your special day.

How To Pull Off The Mismatched Bridesmaids Trend hellomay.com.au - danielmilliganphotography.com

We always recommend organising a day where you can ask all of your ‘maids to try on their dresses together so you can see them as a collective. It will offer you the chance to spot if any dresses don’t quite work together, and it’s a good excuse for a girly day!

5 Stylish Ways To Create A Marble Metallic Wedding Theme

Let’s start with your wedding ceremony. Couples are starting to choose much more creative spaces for their ceremony and we think it’s a great opportunity to make the most of your wedding venue. A copper or golden archway looks incredible adorned with wild greenery and foliage, or your favourite blooms. If you do opt for floral decorations, we suggest choosing flowers that match your wedding bouquet for a completely coordinated look. A metallic wedding archway can transform the simplest of spaces, whether it’s against a stark white wall or in an industrial location. We recommend surrounding the archway with a couple of geometric lanterns for an extra metallic touch.

Team copper charger plates and cutlery with marble place name cards – the combination will look luxurious and stylish. You could ask a calligrapher to handwrite the name of each guest onto a marble card in metallic ink, so they can double up as favours too. You could also use the same design for your wedding seating plan, your guests will love finding their seats!

Let’s not overlook your wedding cake either – marble and metallic wedding cakes are still a huge trend for 2017. Brides and grooms often overlook the wedding cake table, but it can so easily be a focal point of your wedding reception. 3 Modern Wedding Trends for the Style-Conscious Couple

If you’re anything like us, you’ll love keeping an eye on the latest wedding trends. Whether it’s decor ideas or fashion news, we are always keeping our finger on the pulse. Wedding trends come and go, but we thought we’d share our three favourite trends with you today. So if you’re a style-conscious couple who want to rock a modern wedding, settle down and read on about the latest wedding trends.

The Copper Wedding Trend

If you haven’t spotted the craze for copper, we don’t know where you’ve been! Once overlooked, this chic metallic has recently taken the world of weddings by storm. A modern alternative to silver or gold, copper is a cool shade that suits an array of wedding venues and styles. It’s the perfect match if you want an industrial meets luxe wedding theme, and it’s glamorous as well as gritty. What’s not to love?! There are lots of ways to incorporate copper into your wedding day details. Decorate your guest tables with copper terrariums brimming with beautiful blooms, tea lights or simple succulents. Copper candle sticks will add a touch of elegance, as well as a warm glow to your wedding venue. You can use them as part of your table centrepieces or to line along the window sills of your venue. Add a dash of copper to your aisle style through your jewellery and accessories, the perfect choice for a fashion-forward bride.

3 Modern Wedding Trends for the Stylish Couple

The Industrial Wedding Trend

Gone are the days where couples were restricted to traditional wedding venues – whether or not it suited their personal style! We love the fact that nowadays, couples are embracing unusual wedding venues and making the most of unique spaces and locations. Whether it’s an abandoned warehouse, an old-fashioned factory or an empty loft space, brides and grooms are getting creative. Industrial wedding venues offer a blank canvas where you can really personalise it to suit you as a couple. Channel your chosen wedding theme and make use of the statement features such as exposed brick walls, metal pipes or wooden beams. Your wedding guests will also adore attending a wedding venue in such a different location, and you’ll find that there are so many wonderful photograph opportunities. We also think that an industrial venue is the perfect match for a cool copper colour scheme, don’t you?

3 Modern Wedding Trends for the Stylish Couple

The Greenery Wedding Trend

As soon as Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017 was announced, greenery graced the pages of wedding blogs and social media everywhere and it looks like this gorgeous trend is here to stay. Green may not be your first choice of colour for your nuptials, but an abundance of foliage and wild greenery really does look beautiful. It’s also surprisingly easy to incorporate into your wedding day too. Whether it’s a statement ceremony backdrop, a hair vine or venue decor, there are so many breath-taking options out there. Greenery will give your big day a botanical vibe with a minimalist touch – the perfect choice if you want something simple yet stunning. Line long trestle tables with Ivy and Eucalyptus – a wonderful alternative to a traditional table runner and centrepiece. Opt for an all-green wedding bouquet, you may think you’ll miss colourful blooms but the result is incredibly striking. Hanging greenery installations can make even the simplest of wedding venue look amazing, so be sure to speak to your florist about what they can create!

The Most Beautiful Mother of the Bride Moments Ever

Happy Mother’s Day! Seeing as today is all about our wonderful Mothers, we thought we would share with you our favourite Mother of the bride moments. We’ve found some of the most special wedding photographs out there.  For most brides, your Mum will play a huge part in both the wedding planning journey and wedding day. Whether it’s the occasional word of wisdom, wedding advice or a helping hand with decorations. Mums really are superstars!

The Most Beautiful Mother of the Bride Moments Ever

The Most Beautiful Mother of the Bride Moments Ever

There are heaps of heart-meltingly beautiful moments between the bride and her Mother. One of our favourites is definitely the ‘first look’. This is such a special moment for your wedding photographer to capture and it’s something that both you and your Mother will treasure forever.  We love the fact that your photographer has the ability to capture a million different emotions in one picture. It’s the moment that your Mother has the first glimpse of her little girl all dressed up in her wedding gown, ready to begin married life. It can be a happy time where excitement surrounds the room, but it can also be a bittersweet moment for parents.

If you love the thought of capturing a ‘first look’ with your Mum, we recommend planning it with your photographer in advance. You’ll need to allow some time before the ceremony so that the photographer can set up and so you can make it a really special moment without feeling rushed. Letting your photographer know will also mean they are there at the right time.

There are so many other beautiful emotions and images for your wedding photographer to capture. WIN ON THE DAY WEDDING COORDINATION BY PUDDING BRIDGE WORTH OVER £700!

Famed for their stylish, contemporary decor that’s perfect for dazzling celebrations, multi-award winning wedding and event company, Pudding Bridge, has launched a brand new wedding planning service. From creative vision to visiting venues, founder Helen Hopkins can organise every aspect of your day.

Whereas hiring a wedding planner was once considered a decadent indulgence, many now consider it a sensible investment no couple should be without. If you have a demanding job, a busy lifestyle or you’re trying to organise a wedding while living overseas, you’ll definitely benefit from Helen’s knowledge and expertise.

To celebrate this exciting launch, we’ve teamed up with Pudding Bridge to offer one lucky bride the chance to win an incredible prize.

‘I’m so excited to be partnering with Flossy & Willow and Perfect Day Bride to give one of their beautiful clients the chance to win my on-the-day wedding management service. I’m a big fan of the boutiques and the designers they stock, so I can’t wait to get started. Our new wedding planning service is perfect for style savvy couples, so I know we’re going to be a perfect fit.’

Do you want to relax and enjoy your wedding day without having to worry about logistics? Helen has designed her wedding day management service so you can do exactly that. Whether you’re organising an elaborate celebration or an intimate gathering, Helen will make sure it’s memorable for all the right reasons.

Having discussed your plans and produced a detailed running order, she’ll be on site at your wedding venue from the moment set-up begins until the end of your romantic first dance. She’ll liaise with your suppliers throughout the day, assist you and your guests and make sure you have a perfect day!

To be automatically entered into the competition, all you need to do is attend an appointment at either Perfect Day Bride or Flossie & Willow Bridal Studios. The winner will be chosen at random by us. The location of your wedding can be up to 60 miles from Bath and the cost of travel is included.
